The Öresund
bridge, totaling 16 kilometres in length is excellent
proof of what advanced engineering skills and co-operation
across borders can achieve. There has been an ambition
to build the bridge for the past 100 years. Taking five
years to build, it connects Denmark and Sweden and is
the world's longest suspension bridge carrying both
motorway and train traffic.
Road marking material used: thermoplastic. Application
by extrusion. The material was specially developed to
give it a long lifespan. Cleanosol therefore guaranteed
its function for 5 years (the material was to maintain
a certain minimum value as regards retro-reflection,
SRT and QD). And tests have subsequently shown that
the markings have, during the guarantee period, proved
to have exceeded these requirements. Clearly this is
good news for Cleanosol and our clients; Skanska and
the Öresund Bridge Consortium.
The generally held conclusion is unanimous: By using
a high quality thermoplastic, it is possible to guarantee
the functionality of a road marking for many years.
Fewer interruptions and road closures provide more satisfied
users and a safer traffic environment.
